Additional Course Options:
- Engineering Xperience (afternoons only): A hands on math-focused engineering experience, where students will design and build working projects that help demonstrate how math is applied in every day technology. Potential modules include Simple Machines, Bridges and Structures, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, Robotics, Propulsion and more. Past student projects have included:
- ROBOTICS: building homemade robots (vibrating and ambulatory), building and programming “intelligent” robots (using Lego Mindstorms), learning and using various sensors (proximity sensor and touch sensor for obstacle avoidance, color sensor for navigation and line following, gyroscopic sensor for balance)
- HYDRAULICS: understanding hydraulics and building a hydraulic robotic arm
- SIMPLE MACHINES: building and working with levers, pulleys, springs, catapults, a working model elevator, and spring driven cars
- BRIDGES & STRUCTURES: understanding and building truss/arch/suspension bridges, as well as other structures
- OPTICS: understanding optics, diffraction, and magnification and building a homemade telescope
- AIR POWER/PROPULSION: understanding propulsion and building air-powered cars, hovercrafts, and rockets
- ELECTRICITY & MAGNETISM: learning about magnets and electricity, measuring voltage, amperage, and resistance, and building homemade batteries, light bulbs, electromagnets, motors, homemade speakers and more!
- ISEE/SSAT/SAT/ACT/SHSAT Prep (mornings only): Improve understanding and increase scores on the standardized tests used for top secondary schools and colleges. While we will focus mostly on Math, we do target components of the Verbal as well. Our top instructors have extensive experience teaching and tutoring all kinds of standardized tests for secondary school, college, and even graduate school, including PSAT, SAT, ACT, SSAT/ISEE, SHSAT, TACHS/HSPT, GRE, and GMAT.
Session Calendar:
Sessions last 3 weeks, and are 3 hours a day (M-F). This provides a total of 45 hours of one-on-one and small group coaching from elite instructors.
- Sessions 1A/1P: July 5 – July 22*
- Sessions 2A/2P: July 25 – Aug 12
- Sessions 3A/3P: Aug 15 – Sep 2
*There will be no classes on Mon, July 4. There is an optional makeup class on Saturday, July 9.
We have two 3-hour time frames to choose from:
- Morning Sessions (8:30am-11:30am)
- Afternoon Sessions (12:30pm-3:30pm)
For parents that want to keep their child here from 8:30am-3:30pm, we can combine the Engineering Xperience option with either the Math curriculum.
Pricing:
The base cost is $900 for one 3-week session (3 hours/day, M-F). For those who chose the Math + Engineering option, the total cost for both is $1500 for the 3 weeks. However, there is a $50 discount for children who register prior to June 15 ($100 discount for the Math + Science). Cancellation Policy:
Fallout from the novel coronavirus pandemic has upended much of daily life around the globe. While we are currently hopeful that this wave of coronavirus spread will have subsided by summer, it may not. As such, any registered students who choose not to attend will be fully refunded, provided they cancel by June 1.
